Wyman Amish Circle Style Country Quilt

A quilt is a perfect bed cover no matter the time of year because they are cool enough for summer, but warm enough in winter over a blanket. To me, though, the best feature to quilts is their beauty and their decorative appeal. Quilts have long held a position of necessity for the personal comfort they bring to us, but they have also been prized for the quality of design in each. In days gone by, quilts were made by women in groups called quilt circles and quilting was an art form. The quilts hand made by these women were valued as much for the labor of love by which they were made as for their functionality. For those of us lucky enough to have been handed such a prize through the generations we have indeed been blessed.

The Wyman quilt reminds me of the style and type of quilt that would have been a product of a quilting circle. I can envision a group of women gathered together telling the news of the day and stitching together the pieces to make each circle cut from scraps of material they have saved for this purpose. What a fun time of relaxation and socialization for them.

Quaint and rustic in its appeal, the Wyman Quilt is an Amish circle style quilt. Modern colors of deep chocolate and natural tan are easily worked into an existing color scheme. I can see the Wyman quilt in any setting, from master bedroom to a rustic cabin.
